Thirty homes and buildings were named to the National Register of Historic Places on July 7, 1995 known as the Martin Historic District.  The district includes 21 houses, the former railroad depot, the school building, business buildings, a gas station and a former cotton warehouse.  The historic residences in Martin are a mix of Queen Anne, Federal, Colonial Revival and Craftsman architecture.  The commercial buildings are examples of Romanesque Revival architecture.
